Effects

Many people die because of heart attack. But angioplasty reduces the risk of death. Angioplasty is done on more than one million people in US. There are two types of angioplasty balloon angioplasty and laser angioplasty.

Angioplasty is a common medical procedure. It helps to improve the coronary heart disease. It also reduces damage to the heart muscle which is usually caused by heart attack. If the blood flow of the coronary artery is completely blocked then a heart attack occurs.

Laser angioplasty is a technique in which the clogged arteries plaque is cut by laser beam. Usually the artery of the heart which carries the oxygen blocks because of cholesterol. Balloon angioplasty is also a technique to remove the plaque of the artery.

When the artery is blocked because of substance like cholesterol the surgeon opens the clogged artery by the technique is called balloon angioplasty. In this procedure a catheter which is in shape of tube which have a small balloon at one end inserted into the groin to the clogged artery in the heart. The balloon crushes the plaque.

Angioplasty is a problem of heart. The artery which carries oxygen to the hart is blocked or say blocked. This happens due to substances like cholesterol. Substance like cholesterol narrows the walls of the arteries. If the artery is totally blocked it causes heart attack and people dies.
